Aries

Aries is the smallest of our owner builder designs.It has a floor area of 83m². An adobe dwelling with one bedroom it still provides a comfortable living space.

There is provision in the bathroom for a washing machine and trough, but the pantry could be used as a laundry instead. To enhance the thermal efficiency of the dwelling and provide easier service installation, the house has a cavity wall on the South & East sides. Window area on the South side is also kept to a minimum. This design will comply with a five star energy rating for all climatic regions of Victoria except alpine. The floor plan shown here is for the skillion roof version, but in the pitch roof version the plan is almost identical.

Plans include: floorplan, slabplan, roofplan, elevations, sections plus construction details, specification sheets which include timber sizing for up to wind category N4, framing designs with detailed dimensioning.The slab plans offer alternatives for different soil classifications. A worksheet for your electrical layout is also included. Comprehensive construction notes are also provided.

Aries is available in two versions:

Pitched roof

with a roof pitch of 35 degrees and mudbrick gable ends.

Skillion roof

which has a 3 degree slope. This version is easier to build.
